I ADORE THIS!!!.

It's like we were in the same room, writing bits and passing this back and forth. I HEART this so much. I am just flailing with fangirl goodness. It is WONDERFUL and I'm so happy that I'm the first to comment. Because, shit, it is GREAT!

Have recced it on my LJ big time. It is masterfully done. Claps wildly!

What a wonderful, wonderful accompaniment to a lovely, lovely fic.

It took me a few minutes to actually calm down enough to read the fic just because I was so excited that someone had taken Lettered (!!) and remixed it (!!!) and that [info]pir8fancier obviously loved it (!!!!) so it had to be excellent (!!!!!). And then when I did, well. Loved it. The fic is seriously brilliant.

Harry's reactions to Draco's letters seem so spot on -- I really love how you filled in the blanks here. The danger with doing something like this is just like book-to-film adaptations (well, sort of), where the end product is disappointing because nothing can ever be as good as what your imagination conjures -- except that in this case, the end product, your work, is perfect and funny and intense and sweet. Just brilliant.

It’s not true. Some days I don’t feel as though I’m capable of feeling anything but there are days when I feel like I’m unstoppable. Invincible. I’ve got a part to play and whether I chose it or not, it’s mine and I’m going to do it, full stop.

God. That is perfect. Pure Harry, through and through.

The eyes staring back at me are blank and lifeless. I feel thankful that they’re still green and not yet scarlet.

Heartbreaking.

You really ran the full gamut of emotions here, from the angst that comes with thoughts like the one above, to sweetness and hope with lines like Is it my hand on your leg? I think it is (♥), to humor because of the chest monster, haha, and the bit about Nearly Headless Nick and a possible hard-on, which made me laugh so hard it was a while before I could resume reading. And then Harry's simple "er" when he finally gets Draco alone, face to face (WHICH IS SO HIM), and then the need and desperation with which Draco kissed him and then, oh. The rest of the fic definitely brought tears to my eyes. I have a penchant for crying when reading anything related to this universe thanks to [info]pir8fancier's original and Lush Life, but the same goes for here, too. This remix had all the humor and even more of the love from Lettered, with a gorgeous ending. Incredibly done.

Wow. I’m really impressed by this fic. To tell you the truth, I cringed when I realized you were going to remix Lettered. It’s one of those classics everybody has already read and loved, and those are always hard to work with (since it comes with certain expectations). But wow, you did an absolutely brilliant job. I cannot even begin to describe how amazed I am. It felt like Lettered was incomplete before this. In a way, I suppose it was. There are two sides to every story and Lettered was Draco’s side; you told us Harry’s. I loved, loved, loved it!

I had to wait overnight before I was able to calm down enough to form coherant words. This is beutiful! You took an already fantastic fic and took it up those last few knots to make it even better (which I didn't even know could be done). Your Harry is perfect. And I love how so many emotions are throughout this. It's just...georgous.

Oh God, I feel like I have been waiting for this since the first time I ever read Lettered, which is one of my favourite stories ever. Thank you for this. I'm actually crying right now, and it takes a lot for a story to move me that much. The ending - you have my eternal gratitude. ♥♥♥

I enjoyed this a lot! Actually, you kept me from working yesterday because I just had to finish your fic...
I love how you took [info]pir8fancier's story and going from there created so much more than a simple remix. The off-letter-interaction between Harry and Draco (I could just see the scene in hall when they locked eyes, acknowledging each other. I swear, time did seem to slow for a second!), Harry's confusing and not-so-confusing thoughts about "his bloke",... Loved it!
There are a few inconsistencies, though (If you'd like, I could help you with those), but still - D/H-brilliancy!

Lovely....

Like others I had to stop before I read this, although maybe for a different reason; pir8fancier's "lettered" is a favourite fic of mine, so I must admit there was a little hesitation. "Will I like it? will it be what I think the other half the conversation would have been? If not??" A bit like going to the movie version of a book you really love - could be amazing, could be a serious let-down...

Worry for naught, as it turned out. This was a wonderfully written piece, and it fit so well with the original. Harry's letters were so very different in style from Malfoy's, but by putting them with the originals you created the feeling of their very different personalities and it all just flowed together seamlessly. Impressive and lovely, two very different things.

And I loved the epilogue - I liked to think that is what happened when I read the original.

Thanks for making my evening after a long day at work.

And...yeah. It was challenging to fit Harry's POV into something that wasn't my vision in the first place, but I couldn't see taking Draco out of it at all. His letters had to remain as they were. I liked doing this so much and Lettered by itself will remain one of my very favourite fics. PLUS, she's written a sequel (which makes this remix completely AU) but the sequel is gorgeous.....

Well...at pir8fancier's suggestion, I came to read and boy, was I ever glad that I did. I LOVED 'Lettered' and this was just as excellent! I was so excited to see Harry's side of things! This was beyond fantastic. Keeping the original fic in really helped [well, helped me anyway] Harry's responses make sense too!

after perusing the comments, i find it odd that even though lettered is one of my favorite all-time fics, i wasn't nervous about reading this at all. now finding time to read it was another matter. pulled it onto my pc and read it offline out by the ocean today (i live in nz so it is winter here, but it was a lovely day and you can definitely feel that spring is not so far away).

as everyone else has said, it is beautiful work. have bookmarked for future readings. i love how you illustrated harry's frustration and his unintentional hurtful words to draco. the final coming together is lovely and i always felt that draco would give up his birthright for harry even if [info]pir8fancier hasn't quite so much hope for love.

i could quote a heap of lines, but i'll settle for this bit.

Harry felt like his heart was breaking all over again and it wasn’t until he heard Malfoy’s voice close to his ear that he opened his eyes. Malfoy had closed the gap between them and was leaning in toward Harry.

“You stupid fucking Gryffindor, stop saying you’re sorry,” he whispered, and he wrapped his arms tight around Harry’s shaking body.

Lettered has always been one of my favorite D/H stories (and I feel like a sheep leaving this comment, ohnoes *grin*), so I was really excited and also very cautious about reading this story. I shouldn't have been - it was perfect. Harry sounded so clear and just as you'd expect him to on every little action and dialogue, and the ending had me in tears. Certainly one to re-read and re-read. Wonderful job, mystery writer. :)

I really enjoyed reading this. I think you've managed to capture Harry's voice perfectly, and he's just so vivid. I read Lettered a while ago, and while I liked it for me it's wasn't an absolute favourite, but I think your expansion on the verse has tipped it into re-read and squee category <3

I have always loved Lettered. I think it's my favorite fanfic ever. When I read yours no story had ever lived up to it, yet I had no qualms about reading your remix and the way you wrote Harry's pov has vaulted your story upto Lettered status. I absolutely loved the meeting with Draco when Harry says he's "so sorry." Draco's reaction was just perfection. And the story brought tears to my eyes. Well, I'm rambling now. I just needed to tell you that this story is aMAZing.

Ah, that's brilliant. I've just read "Lettered" and I knew there was a remix in existence, so I had to read that one, too. Awesome job on giving Harry's PoV on all of this! ;)
I wouldn't have minded more about the ball, but well, I immensely enjoyed this fic, so I won't complain. Very well written! ^_^

I'm a wee bit behind, but just wanted to say that I LOVED this and, like everyone else, thought it was the perfect compliment to Lettered. In fact, as someone else already astutely said, it was as if Lettered wasn't complete until someone had written the other side.

Totally reccing this like woah and you are totally my new favorite person for writing this.
